Although the image is identical in every way to its original, the file will appear as unique. This is useful for example with metadata: when Windows Image Import tool downloads pictures from your digital camera, additional XML data is inserted into the images and video files, including a timestamp of when the image was downloaded to the computer. Once scanned, the program will display the number of bytes which differ as well as the specific percentage match between files. While most duplicate-searching programs are looking for exact copies, SDF uses a Percentage Search, allowing you to adjust the percentage difference required for a file to be considered a duplicate. Replacing these mysterious non-spaces with real spaces made it work.Simple Duplicate Finder helps track down similar files either to delete extras and save space or to compare versions. Long story short, the spaces in the values in Column A weren't regular spaces for some reason, so they were seen as different values than Column B. So I copied one of the spaces between the words and it looks like the character isn't a normal space? It's this: " " (between the quotes).ĮDIT 3: Works now. even though 1800+ rows have spaces in them.ĮDIT 2: Following my last edit I copied the values into Notepad and tried replacing all spaces in there, nothing was detected either. I've taken 1 company name that appears in both columns A and B and Excel does not recognize them as duplicates, you can check it out here: ĮDIT: I noticed all of the values that show as duplicates don't have spaces, so maybe spaces are getting in the way of things? So I tried to replace all spaces with nothing, but of course in Column A no spaces are detected, so none are being replaced. It seems that a few duplicate values (6 or so) are recognized, and the other duplicates are almost like ignored. Thank you, this worked however only for the very small few I mentioned in the original post. so I copied to Notepad, copied the weird space values, replaced the weird spaces with real spaces, moved back to Excel and it worked. The problem was that all of the spaces in Column A (between words etc, such as "Company Inc." weren't actually spaces. I have formatted both as text and removed any extra spaces they may have but Excel will just not highlight them.ĮDIT: Solved. I copied a value from Column B that I saw also existed in Column A to a blank sheet, and Excel can't even detect the duplicates, even though they are right beside each other. To do this, I'm using Conditional Formatting to find duplicate values and highlight them (Conditional Formatting > Highlight Cells Rules > Duplicate Values.), however it sees like 6 companies as duplicates, though I can tell there are hundreds. I'm trying to find which of Column B's values exist in Column A, and separate the rest. I have two columns of data (Column A is about 2,000 rows, Column B is about 1,000).
